I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW, LCSW-C) in Virginia and Maryland and a Board-Approved Clinical Supervisor for master’s level clinicians. I earned my BA in Psychology from Elon College in 2000 and my MSW from The Catholic University of America, School of Social Work in 2002.
In addition to my degrees, I hold Level I and Level II Certificates in Advanced Trauma Treatment from The Lisa Ferentz Advanced Psychotherapy Institute, where I am currently a member of the faculty.
For the past twenty+ years, I have been specializing in treating eating disorders ,complex trauma, and relationship issues. with adolescents and adults. In additional to providing talk therapy, I incorporate expressive art modalities such as dance, movement, mindfulness, and meditation to help clients regulate their nervous systems. My comprehensive approach allows me to partner with my clients on their unique healing journey, addressing both your individual experiences and goals. As an IMAGO-trained couples therapist, I integrate relational approaches into my practice, along with IFS (internal family systems.) I believe in the power of helping couples slow down and listen to one another so you can reconnect and work through your challenges with one another.
Over the course of my 20+ year career, I have become a huge believer in the power of movement and expressive arts, becoming a Certified JourneyDance™ Facilitator in 2014. I spent two powerful and transformative weeks in the rainforest of Costa Rica, learning how to integrate, movement, dance, and music to help people reconnect with their bodies and experience lasting change. Being able to incorporate expressive modalities into my individual and group work has allowed me the opportunity to to help clients reconnect with parts of themselves that have become lost that you may not always have the words to describe or even have access to. By reconnecting with your body, you can unlock a sense of well-being and that may have been overlooked. Each session offers a unique opportunity to explore and nurture the forgotten parts of themselves, fostering a deeper connection to their own vitality."
Before establishing my private practice in Virginia in 2008, I worked in various clinical settings, including a special education school in Washington, DC; a residential treatment center in Montgomery County; and for Fairfax County Public Schools.
